Duran, Profiat (Ephodi)
(fl. 13th-14th cent)
   Spanish scholar and polemicist. He was born in Perpignan. He was forcibly converted to Christianity in 1391 but later reverted to Judaism. He wrote two polemical tracts against Christianity, a Hebrew grammar, a commentary on Maimonides' Guide for the Perplexed, and a history of the persecutions and expulsions of the Jews from the destruction of the Second Temple until his own time.
