- Duran, Profiat (Ephodi)
- (fl. 13th-14th cent)Spanish scholar and polemicist. He was born in Perpignan. He was forcibly converted to Christianity in 1391 but later reverted to Judaism. He wrote two polemical tracts against Christianity, a Hebrew grammar, a commentary on Maimonides' Guide for the Perplexed, and a history of the persecutions and expulsions of the Jews from the destruction of the Second Temple until his own time.
